  • ¾ cup (180 ml) milk
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Add-Ins

  • Blueberries
  • Chocolate chips
  • Banana slices
  • Cinnamon

EQUIPMENT

  • Air fryer (basket or oven-style)
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Heat-safe baking dish or silicone mold (must fit inside air fryer)
  • Parchment paper or oil spray

STEP 1: PREHEAT THE AIR FRYER

  • Preheat air fryer to 170°C (340°F) for 3–5 minutes.

Preheating ensures even cooking and prevents undercooked centers.

STEP 2: MIX THE DRY INGREDIENTS

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Whisk well to distribute leavening evenly.

Proper mixing creates light and fluffy pancakes.

STEP 3: MIX THE WET INGREDIENTS

  1. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  2. Mix until smooth and fully combined.

STEP 4: MAKE THE PANCAKE BATTER

  1. Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  2. Stir gently until just combined.

The batter should be smooth but slightly thick.
Do not overmix, as this will make pancakes dense.

STEP 5: PREPARE THE PAN

  1. Lightly grease a heat-safe pan or silicone mold.
  2. Optional: line the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. Pour batter into the pan, filling no more than halfway.
  4. Add optional toppings evenly on top.

STEP 6: AIR FRY THE PANCAKE

  1. Place the pan carefully into the air fryer basket.
  2. Cook at 170°C (340°F) for 10–13 minutes.

The pancake is done when:

  • The top looks set
  • A toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
  • The surface springs back lightly when touched

STEP 7: COOL AND SERVE

  1. Remove pancake from air fryer.
  2. Let cool for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Slice or serve whole.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

  • Drizzle with maple syrup or honey
  • Serve with fresh fruit
  • Add butter, whipped cream, or yogurt
  • Dust lightly with powdered sugar
