Air Fryer Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft cookie dough forms.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts.

Tip: Don’t overmix—overmixing can make cookies tough.

Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 330°F (165°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.

Preheating ensures even cooking and golden edges.

Step 3: Shape the Cookies

  1. Scoop dough using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop.
  2. Roll into balls (about 1–1.5 inches in diameter) and place in the air fryer basket.
  3. Leave at least 1 inch of space between cookies—they will spread slightly.

Tip: For larger cookies, slightly flatten the dough balls with your fingers.

Step 4: Cook the Cookies

  1. Air fry at 330°F (165°C) for 8–10 minutes.
  2. Check at 8 minutes—the cookies should be light golden on the edges and soft in the center.
  3. Remove the basket and let cookies cool for 2–3 minutes. They will firm up slightly as they cool.

Tip: Cooking times vary depending on air fryer size and cookie thickness.

Step 5: Serve

  • Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely if desired.
  • Serve warm for gooey chocolate, or let cool for a firmer cookie.
  • Optional: Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt for a gourmet touch.
