Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
- 2 large chicken breasts
(or 3–4 small ones) - 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded or sliced mozzarella cheese
- Optional toppings:
- Italian seasoning
- Dried oregano or basil
- Fresh parsley
Equipment Needed
- Air fryer
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Mixing bowl
- Tongs
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
If the breasts are thick:
- Slice them horizontally, or
- Pound lightly for even thickness
This helps the chicken cook evenly.
Step 2: Season the Chicken
Place the chicken in a bowl.
Add:
- Olive oil
- Garlic powder
- Paprika
- Salt
- Black pepper
Mix gently until the chicken is evenly coated.
Step 3: Air Fry the Chicken
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Place the chicken in the basket in a single layer.
Cook for:
- 8–10 minutes, then flip
- 6–8 more minutes, until cooked through
Chicken should reach 165°F (74°C) internally.
Step 4: Add the Mozzarella Cheese
Open the air fryer.
Sprinkle mozzarella generously over each piece of chicken.
Optional:
- Add Italian seasoning or herbs
Return to the air fryer.
Cook for 2–3 minutes, just until the cheese melts and becomes soft and stretchy.
Step 5: Rest and Serve
Remove the chicken and let it rest for 2–3 minutes.
This keeps the juices inside.
Garnish with parsley if desired
